Behmer & Wright has set up site sheds and temporary fencing around the building and have begun demolition of the Barry Round Room, Internal partitions and windows in the exterior south wall.
A temporary path has been constructed in Cyril Curtain Reserve for the public to use whilst the existing path behind the grandstand is cut off. This path has been fenced into the site for the duration of the building works and underground drainage work in this area is underway.
Removal of the grandstand seats has been completed with those suitable for reuse being stored for reinstallation.
Underground stormwater drainage for the western access road and car park has been completed.
Underground conduits for the main electrical feed to the Kiosk transformer have been installed.
The oval reconstruction has been delayed again due to rain however it is still planned (weather permitting) to sew the oval with drought tolerant Couch grass before Christmas.
The six new synthetic cricket practice pitches are now being used now by the WCC with cricketers gaining access to them from Battery Road.
Work on the removal of the asbestos cement sheet roof will be undertaken from Monday 13th December and will be completed by 17th December provided calm weather conditions prevail. A large number of pigeons will then be looking for a new home.
Work will commence again in the new year from Monday 10th January.
